Querido Zoo storyboard to rewrite the story

Querido Zoo storyboard to rewrite the story

Having read the story Querido Zoo and discussed the animals and adjectives that describe them as well as the word demasiado (too), learners write their own version using the storyboard, picking an animal and an adjective to describe their rejected animals. They fill in the gaps that get longer as the structure becomes more familiar, and also illustrate their story.

La Primavera by Antonio Machado

La Primavera by Antonio Machado

A PPT of the poem La Primavera by Antonio Machado. We read the poem and decode it using our LLS and KAL - cognates, context, previous learning, guess work etc! We listen out for certain parts of the poem and respond with actions (e.g. clap for La Primavera ha venido, tap the table for Nadie sabe como ha sido) then read it aloud chorally and in small groups. Finally we focus on an extract (see En media del prado.doc) and each child rewrites that part with their own imagery.
