The only one we've got - An Earth poem

The only one we've got - An Earth poem

A poem I have written exploring the way we treat our planet and intended to prompt and provoke student debate and discussion. Could easily be used with Primary and Secondary students, as well as even older students as it should act as a stimulus or opening for debate. Thanks Mark Cowan

PE Policy Document

PE Policy Document

An example of one of my PE policies. It's not complete or totally comprehensive but if you&'ve been landed with the responsibility of writing one - especially as a Primary School teacher - it could be a useful starting point. Please feel free to use as much or as little of it as you like. OFSTED were happy with it in it&';s previous incarnation in June 2004.

African Keyhole Gardens - sustainable schools

African Keyhole Gardens - sustainable schools

Grow vegetables in the UK, African style! Introduce your children to the world of growing plants through the lives of children in African countries. These Keyhole Gardens resources bring Africa to life, count towards Eco-Schools status and are fund to make too.You could start with a Bag Garden, and then add to your ‘African Garden’ by constructing tip-tap handwashers and then make a Keyhole Garden. The gardens help teach sustainability as they have a compost core, encourage use of 'grey water' and are made from locally available materials.

light monitoring poster

light monitoring poster

Eco schools - to monitor which class is remembering to always turn off the light at break/lunch/hometime etc. Add a sticker or mark with a whiteboard pen and perhaps have a whole school competition that is announced at assembly?
