Truth or Dare - suitable for KS2 and KS3

Truth or Dare - suitable for KS2 and KS3

Simple game of 'Truth or Dare'. I have generally thought of this as an older game. But for promoting as a speaking activity to encourage reluctant learners or ESL students, it's super.I have played this with my summer school class consisting of a mixed group of year 3, 6 and 8 students in Spain. Some of the students in my group attend our British International School and some do not. However, the language level is quite good, but it is also a way of encouraging new language vocabulary and skills. I have included a game board, Truth question cards and forfeit cards. There is also a die template just in case you haven't got a handful of dice at the ready. My students also really enjoyed rolling an odd number to have to do a forfeit! They are pretty funny! This would be an ideal resource for ESL, EAL as well as English or PSHE. It's also something fun to play on a Friday afternoon in smaller groups when you just can't anymore.... LOL... Enjoy!

Poetry Revision Pack - GCSE Power and Conflict

Poetry Revision Pack - GCSE Power and Conflict

An accessible and compact revision pack that prepares GCSE pupils for English Literature Paper 2, Section B. This pack is compact with revision questions and vocabulary banks for each poem in Power and Conflict so pupils can consolidate their knowledge of each poem and make appropriate comparisons. Complete with questions and writing space, pupils learn to consolidate the key information (AO1) of each poem, analyse its key quotes (AO2) and explore its key contextual information (AO4). With clear questioning, pupils then consider alternative poems that they may be comparable to each poem. The resource is perfect for pupils throughout poetry as this can be used throughout lessons, for homework and during revision sessions.

Silly Song Splat Game

Silly Song Splat Game

I am having to teach Summer School in a British International School in Spain. So, I am trying to reinforce English through song. I put together a group of some of my favorite silly songs when I was growing up. Although, I did find one or two new one's that tickled my fancy! I have a mixed group of year 3, year 6 and year 8, so I am trying to do something that spans the year groups. I have been teaching the kids these songs this week and I though it would be fun to reinforce the songs through a game of Splat! There are three rounds. 1. Rhymes 2. Questions about the songs 3. Homophones. All you need is some colourful fly swatters or hands, and hey- presto!
