I currently teach IGCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Also A level Biology. The resources I produce for my lessons are carefully planned and I try to involve a lot of self-learning to allow students to develop these important skills needed for further education.

COVID-19 Corona Virus

(9)
A complete lesson giving an overview of how the corona virus infects the lung tissue and why some people have a more severe reaction that can lead to death. There are a series of tasks so students are independently learning along with lots of opportunity for class discussion. I have also included some video clips to aid understanding further. This lesson can be adapted for KS3 - KS5

Momentum and Car Safety

(2)
I have used my own resources and a few slides from other Tes members (thank you!) to put together a PPT which recalls the equation for momentum and then looks at how to calculate force using the change of momentum and time. There are also exam questions included for extra practice!

Acceleration and Graphing speed

(1)
Acceleration PPT recaps over the speed and velocity covered in previous lesson. There are worksheets with questions on with varying ability of challenge. Graphing speed introduces the idea of how different graphs can be used to calculate distance, speed and velocity. I have used other people´s resources found online - Matrix car chase and calculation worksheets.

The Global Warming Debate - causation or correlation?

(1)
A power point lesson which guides students through data in the form of carbon dioxide levels; global temperature; rising sea levels and glacial melting. Students gain practice in data analysis which is vital in this module. There are also a series of exam questions with answers to support their understanding. This lesson links with Edexcel IAL Unit 4

Introduction to Ecology

(0)
A complete lesson which introduces the terminology used in Ecology lessons. We also explore how abiotic and biotic factors can affect a habitat. There are questions to check understanding of knowledge learnt plus independent learning activities. Learning outcomes Recall what is meant by the terms population, community, habitat and ecosystem Understand that the numbers and distribution of organisms in a habitat are controlled by biotic and abiotic factors Understand how the concept of a niche accounts for the distribution and abundance of organisms in a habitat
Modelling Climate Change

Modelling Climate Change

(1)
Edexcel IAL specification - students learn how the data for a model is produced and then extrapolated. We then look at factors other than carbon dioxide which can influence the model. Limitations of models are discussed.
