A template to look at simplifying the 90 word writing question for GCSE Languages (this template is Spanish).
After studying the requirements and going through strategies, students complete the 90 word task to 90’s music - embedded playlist on the slide!
Game 1: Blocks
Using a domino set, students must conjugate a chosen verb into the person and tense required. Tense is decided by the teacher. Person is decided by the number on the side of the domino being put down.
Game 2: Matador
Using a domino set, students must conjugate a chosen verb into the person and tense required. Tense is decided by the teacher. Person is decided by the number on the side of the domino being put down - which must make 7 when added to the domino before it.
This version is NOT currently editable.
Students write x1 sentence for each picture on the fidget spinner. Doesn’t had to go in order - specific tense and person is labelled in the middle of each spinner.
For challenge - students could add details and connect sentences to make paragraph.
Using the website Flamingtext.com I have created a Moving Phrases template.
Students write the sentence they see before it disappears. Challenge is to translate it.
Students work out the missing word for each box and re-write the sentence correctly. Challenge is to translate into English!
Great for chunking and word order!
Students use the colour codes to work out the sentences. The first part is a conjugation, the second part is the remaining part of the sentence.
Teacher decides on what tense to conjugate into.
Students draw a bar graph according to if the sentences across the bottom are present, past etc.
Good cross curricular activity and also combines numeracy! :)
Students translate each sentence that corresponds to a ball. Each numbered ball is worth the number of points on each ball: e.g. the black ball is worth 8 points.
Sentences get more difficult towards the end as the balls are worth more points!
Student with most points - wins!
Sentences can be done from Eng-TL or TL to Eng.
Students roll the dice x6 times and make a note of what they roll and each element they will need.
Students have to think of their own words to create their own sentences.
