In this first lesson, students are introduced to the design brief and shown a case study from an innovative school design in Vietnam Farming Kindergarten, with a particular focus on innovation, sustainability and materials. Students then complete a semantic mind map before sketching their own design. Original SketchUp file can also be emailed by sending a request to elliott06@googlemail.com (TES does not accept SketchUp files). Can be adapted for the re-design of a pupils existing school or a completely new school design. This project will culminate in students designing their own school using free Google SketchUp software. – If you enjoyed this project/scheme of work. **Will robots take my job? In this lesson, students gain an understanding of scales of production and how different products are made. The lesson also focuses on computer-aided manufacturing and how automation will significantly change the world of production from 3D printed cupcakes to entire buildings!** The lesson includes real-world examples that students can relate to, such as Coca-cola, Dyson, and Colgate. The lesson culminates in a task where students consolidate and apply the key theory that they have learnt with an included worksheet. Included are modeling examples, videos, and student worksheets.
