Glycolysis and the Link Reaction Double Lesson
Learning intention: To describe the process and site of glycolysis and the link reaction
Can easily be split into two lessons if required. Works well in flipped learning or by a traditional method.
This was written to meet the OCR A specification but looks like it would meet the requirements of other exam boards or could be easily tweaked.
Resources include take away active revision cards for students, which double up as sources of information and can be issued the lesson prior to turn into a flipped learning environment - they read all the information they need, then spend the lesson learning it further/ applying it/ using it.
Plenty of activities for students to learn and demontrate progress.

Topic 5 part 2. This pack covers all of these theory topics; The human endocrine system, control of blood glucose, diabetes, water/nitrogen balance, ADH, dialysis, hormones in reproduction, plant hormones, thyroxine/adrenaline, negative feedback exam mastery. Students need to source a graph of the interaction of the hormones in the menstrual cycle - a learning activity has been suggested in the notes for this.

Topic 5 part 1. This pack covers all of these theory topics; homeostasis, the nervous system, synapses and reflexes, the brain, the eye, correcting vision defects, negative feedback. The brain and an eye picture will need sourcing by the students - a fun activity has been suggested within the pack (in the notes at the bottom of slide) for the students to practise these drawings and create their own - it will really get them learning!

This pack covers all of these theory topics; Variation, evolution, theory of evolution, selective breeding, genetic engineering, cloning, speciation, understanding genetics, evidence for evolution, antibiotic resistant bacteria, classification, evolutionary trees. Suggested that students study a range of evolutionary trees as they can vary somewhat.

It covers an introduction of prokaryotes and eukaryotes (more about structure in lesson 2), and then covers length conversions, standard form, and microscopy calculations, with an introduction to the light microscope.
