This is one of 3 booklet/PowerPoint packs designed for the Edexcel Superpower Relations Unit. The booklet is in PowerPoint for easy editing if you wish to do so. Each presentation provides feedback/answers for you to use alongside the booklet in class. Included is the scheme of work for the entire Superpower Relations Unit. This is a simple interactive map of Parliament currently saved in 2 versions-a standard PowerPoint presentation and a PowerPoint show. The standard presentation can be used in a lesson in which you can set students the task of adding information to the slides. The show version can be used for teacher-led activities on the board. It can be used for a range of ages and subjects. I am using it for A Level Government and Politics but it could be used for Citizenship at any key stage. I should add that they hyperlinks are over the numbers on the map on the first slide. Simply hover the mouse over the map and click! It’s fully editable so do what you like with it!

This is a pack containing a work booklet for mainstream learners and a scaffolded/differentiated version covering 9 lessons and 9 accompanying PowerPoint presentations with answers for the booklets to allow self/peer assessment of notes. It builds towards a final extended writing piece with scaffolds and templates to help students produce a decent piece of work. I designed this as in response to a number of students suggesting that Britain ‘won’ the Second World War. I wanted students to consider the wider picture and examine the American and Soviet contribution. Next year I want to look at the contribution of Empire as well (if you buy this pack now you’ll be able to download the improved version next year for free!)

This pack is a set of student and teacher resources for teaching the Edexcel GCSE unit Anglo-Saxon and Norman England, c1060-1088. Many of the lessons are based on content in the Pearson textbook though it is possible to amend lessons if you use a different book. The pack contains- • A scheme of work document with step by step instructions on delivering the materials in each lesson • PowerPoint presentation for each lesson. Each PowerPoint corresponds with the work booklets and guides students through the activities and helps you to provide feedback/facilitate self/peer assessment for each activity. • A mainstream work booklet for each section with activities for every lesson ranging from knowledge organisers to ‘I, we, you’ activities. • A differentiated work booklet containing scaffolded versions of the resources in the mainstream booklets • A set of tests and assessments based on sample and past paper questions • Mark schemes tailored for each target grade (4-9) • A revision comic strip for the entire unit All resources are in either Word or PowerPoint format so can be edited/customised e.g Domesday lesson on local place names.

This powerpoint breaks down the key events in Superpower Relations 1941-1991 into a comic strip which requires students to fill in gaps with key terms. It is intended to be a ‘memory recover exercise’ to refresh students’ working knowledge of the unit as they approach exams. Answer slides are included in the presentation as is an illustrated timeline of the presidents of both the USA and the USSR across the period.

This PowerPoint presentation is designed to be printed off and cut out to make cue cards (see picture). There are 3 categories of cards-blue for crimes, green for punishments and pink for maintaining law and order. I have used them to help students to identify relevant issues, events, and concepts for essay questions. For example, I sat the essay ‘How far was deterrent the main purpose of punishment 1500-1900?’ and asked students to identify and select relevant cards to aid them in answering the question. They work just as effectively for ‘Explain why…’ questions.
