The concept of this devising assessment is that students analyse four pieces of art and create four pieces of original drama based on the art work. The final performance will be set in an art gallery where students bring the art to life and can stage the performance to include the audience. You can also add in an art gallery worker to escort the audience around the gallery. There are four lessons included in the power point to create the work, but students will then rehearse this towards an assessment. There is a work book to enable students to keep a log book of the decisions that they have made. There are also cards which have key vocal and physical terms on which can be used in any drama lesson to encourage students to include these words during evaluations. For copyright reasons, I am unable to include the four pictures, but the questions will fit any piece of art meaning you would be able to just insert the pictures into the power point and work book.

This devising unit of work asks the question whether it is socially and morally right to discriminate, and it encourages students to explore this topic and create original pieces of drama to answer the question. There are two workshops where racial discrimination is explored through the Rosa Parks story, two workshops where age discrimination is explored through "The Old Man and His grandson" by the Brothers Grimm, and two workshops where gender discrimination is explored through the suffragette movement. There is a unit of work, and a power point that accompanies this. When purchased, you would need to source your own suffragette pictures, and Rosa Parks information due to uncertainty of including them in this for copyright reasons, but the Brothers Grimm story is included.

The theme of anti-bullying week 2020 is “United Against Bullying”. This assembly looks at discrimination and bullying, actions we can take to prevent bullying, character education and how positive outcomes can be achieved when we unite together. Slide 11 has been left blank for you to include initiatives your school has done to unite together in achieving a positive goal. There are some notes under some slides.

This angles lesson is created to introduce students to angles within a triangle, and how these vary according to whether it is an isosceles, scalene or equilateral triangle. Students are also encouraged to consider the similarities and differences of these different triangles. There is one section where you will need to insert your own triangle angles questions based on what you use within school. I am unable to do this due to copyright reasons. The lesson starts with a card sort of general angles, a card sort I use at the start of every angles lesson as a bell activity, and build it into a competition as to who can complete it the quickest. This card sort contains the names of angles and has a brief description of the angle.

This student resource can be taken to a live performance in order for students to take notes. There are key words which will support performance and production roles, and there are examples from "The Woman in Black".

This unit of work looks at the genre of pantomime and enables students to look at pantomime conventions, characterisation, dialogue and production values. It can be used as a KS3 scheme of work, or for any devised unit at KS4. The unit of work contains lesson objectives, learning outcomes, suggested class and homework activities and suggested open and closed questions. There are also a selection of resources included.

This unit of work contains six drama workshops based on Susan Hill's "The Woman in Black". Each workshop has a clear objective and suggested activities. There is an accompanying power point for this unit of work.

This black History scheme of work was written to be delivered to year 8, but it can be delivered to any KS3 Drama group. The scheme of work includes lesson objectives, learning outcomes, suggested tasks and activities, homework tasks as well as open and closed question suggestions. The work book contains all activities mentioned in the scheme and can either be used as a class based work book or a homework book. There are also a variety of bell activities to ensure students are immediately engaged, as well as an assessment planning sheet.

This Unit of Work has been adapted for Component 1 of the new Edexcel syllabus. However, it can be used for any Devising Unit or Theatre in Education Unit. I used this presentation at the start of term to encourage staff members to reflect upon personal practice, as well as reflecting on the ethos we would all like to create in our classroom. The Promise Postcard idea worked really well, and after one term I placed the postcards in staff pigeon holes where they reflected on whether they had achieved their own personal target. It can be used for Autumn and Summer term as well by changing the text.

This PSHE scheme of work addresses the rights and responsibilities everyone has in order to ensure social media is a safe place to be. It was written to deliver in Year 9 PSHE, but could be used for Years 7 - 9. The scheme of work develops debating skills where arguments for and against social media headlines are debated. This red card behaviour strategy can be adapted by any educational establishment to support the management of low level behaviour. The idea is that if students demonstrate low level behaviour they are issued with the first red card warning, if they do not address their behaviour they will be issued with a second red card behaviour warning, if they do not address their behaviour and a third red card behaviour warning is given, the pastoral support team are sent for to support with behaviour or remove the student from the lesson to enable Teaching and Learning to continue. If a third warning is issued, the student is issued with a department red card detention.
