A booklet that allows pupils to practice a wide and varied number of skills on school grounds. It supports pupils in the development of key skills needed for GCSE geographical success. e.g. grid references, mapping, location, data presentation, data evaluation, questionnaires, methods and explaining. Pupils use the booklet as a step by step guide to work through tasks, after collection of data on the school grounds. Simple hypotheses are included along with the opportunity for conclusions. It will require the changing of the Google earth image of the school, with your own. This takes roughly half a term for year 7.

data collection presentation post assessment statistics geography maths independent

A worksheet to use with pupils post assessment. Students firstly create a percentage from their test score. They then collect data from their peers and fill in the table. Once completed, they order the data and calculate the mean & median. They then plot the data as a stack graph or double bar graph (boys & girls). To finish, they complete the target setting sheet. Data can be analysed once all elements have been done. Can be used with all year groups, but works well for KS3.

A great lesson that covers a variety of urban trends. I based this on the pupils local area, but it could very simply be adapted to your own area. The GCSE Q & A really tests their understanding. Covers most new 1-9 gcse geography specifications, but terminology may need slightly altering. A great lesson that covers key geographical content and statistical analysis and explaining.

A great lesson that covers a variety of aspects related to diversity across the UK, with a specific focus upon London & Newcastle. Students play a game in pairs and use the game cards to add to their GCSE style question (some counters/tokens are needed for the game). I’ve included marking & feedback sheet that just needs printing off & cutting to save you loads of time & give great personalised feedback. Covers most new 1-9 gcse geography specifications, but terminology may need slightly altering.

A great lesson that covers a variety of aspects related to diversity across the UK. I deliver parts of this by using the internet and looking at industrial decline in Newcastle (ship building & coal mine closures under the Thatcher government) and the remainder of the lesson by using the data sheets. These can be copied in colour and laminated. Covers most new 1-9 gcse geography specifications, but terminology may need slightly altering. A great lesson that covers key geographical content and statistical analysis and explaining.
