This five-book series, which is designed for children who need extra support and a small steps approach, complements any phonics programme. The clear layout and instructions enable independent working, and there is plenty of practice at each stage, making the sheets useful for literacy intervention. Each book has over 100 worksheets, is suitable for a wide age-range and is ideal for homework. The areas covered by each book are as follows: book 1 : the letters of the alphabet and their sounds book 2 : consonant-vowel-consonant words book 3 : -ll, -ss, -ff, -ck and -ng endings and adjacent consonants book 4 : long vowel phonemes, including alternative spellings book 5 : prefixes, suffixes and alternative pronunciations for some graphemes.

The three books in this graded series will help children who struggle with punctuation and need extra practice. The series deals with punctuation basics using a very simple, straightforward format. The books include the kind of tasks that children enjoy, such as multiple choice and editing. The worksheets are ideal for preparing your pupils for grammar, punctuation and spelling tests. Book 1 covers full stops and capital letters for sentences, plus capital letters for names and ‘I’. Book 2 revises punctuation dealt with in Book 1 plus looks at question and exclamation marks and the use of commas for lists. This book gives an excellent introduction to Onset and Rime work. It includes cut and stick activities and incorporates nursery rhymes which appeal to younger children. It has a useful introduction section which bridges the gap between oral/aural and written rhyming work. This book is very helpful for those children who are not succeeding with a purely synthetic phonics approach. Includes sheets to make word-building cards or booklets.
