I write all sorts of resources for primary and secondary pupils. Have done supply on the full range for more than 10 years now and always come fully armed with resources for my lessons. I aim particularly at the lower groups who are strugglers. Secondary resources have been created for PRU pupils and they have worked REALLY well. The phonics resources were written for a number of pupils that I tutor after school hours and I have had great results.

Media Representation and Reality

I devised this workbook for a set of very disaffected pupils in a PRU. Hence the colour. I tried to make each page a challenge and interesting and devised activities to amuse and interest them. It has worked well and they enjoyed the tasks set and the discussion was good too.

Key stage 3 spellings

These worksheets are based on a list found in the Dfes guide for spellings that should be known in KS3. This is just a start. Please give me feedback if you would like the whole list done like this for pupils who are still on level 3. I used these in a PRU that I worked in and the pupils enjoyed them (mostly boys hence the footballer pics!)

PHONICS OE split digraph STORY AND QUESTIONS.

(12)
Sometimes I chuckle a bit when I have a list of words and I am making a story with them. This one really made me smile when it all came together! The story is full of split digraph O-E and gives the pupils a chance to test their ability to read words with this sound. The story is followed by a set of questions. Please leave feedback and a rating if this is a useful resource.

A set of Cloze procedure exercises which can be used for young readers or for older pupils who struggle with reading and comprehension skills. They have been used successfully at KS3 stage for weak readers in a PRU setting. Clear large font so could be projected onto the whiteboard. There are many more activities such as this on the website as listed.

PHONICS: Underline the split digraph a-e words

Shane, Jake and the babe. Three monkeys! A cute little story filled with split digraph a - e words. I ask the pupil to first find all the words and then trace over the a-e with a coloured felt tip. I have found that a weak reader has a better chance of reading the story if this is done first. Please leave feedback and a rating if this resource is useful.
