I devised this workbook for a set of very disaffected pupils in a PRU. Hence the colour. I tried to make each page a challenge and interesting and devised activities to amuse and interest them. It has worked well and they enjoyed the tasks set and the discussion was good too.

This set of worksheets is a section of Module 6 of the Burt Reading scheme. There are at present over 700 phonic worksheets in this scheme. They have been used very successfully with dyslexic pupils and ESOL pupils.. SENCO'S will find them very useful for SEN pupils.

I was working in a local PRU teaching EDEXCEL science to a group of pupils who were totally NOT interested in the learning process but were keen to get a grade. So I bought them each the revision guide published by Pearson - the green one for foundation as this was the level they were working on. I then created this workbook. They really liked it and enjoyed working through the booklet and filling in all the answers from the guide. The process of simply reading and filling in the answers helped every pupil in that group to get a C grade. I think this booklet will be useful for homework, revision and days when cover is needed for a class. Put this to KS3 as no classification section on the KS4 options! The workbook is based on the powerpoint and cannot be done without it. These worksheets are based on a list found in the Dfes guide for spellings that should be known in KS3. This is just a start. Please give me feedback if you would like the whole list done like this for pupils who are still on level 3. I used these in a PRU that I worked in and the pupils enjoyed them (mostly boys hence the footballer pics!)

Sometimes I chuckle a bit when I have a list of words and I am making a story with them. This one really made me smile when it all came together! The story is full of split digraph O-E and gives the pupils a chance to test their ability to read words with this sound. The story is followed by a set of questions.
