Using substitution to plot linear graphs

(0)
Lesson based on using tables of values to find co-ordinates and plot linear graphs. Designed for KS3 who had already covered substitution into algebra and formulae. Could possibly be useful for KS4 classes.
Solving linear equations graphically
crender91crender91

Solving linear equations graphically

(0)
Complete lesson including examples, independent questions and answers. Builds on previous lessons that include substituting values into a table to produce a linear equation graphically. Includes step-by-step guidance about how to solve linear equations graphically. Designed for use with KS3 but could be suitable for some KS4.
Box plots

Box plots

(0)
Complete lesson covering box plots. Designed for Year 9 but suitable for all of KS3 and KS4. This lesson covers everything about box plots, including drawing them from data, drawing from cumulative frequency curves and comparing box plots. All questions included are past exam questions.
Completing the square (using algebra tiles)

Completing the square (using algebra tiles)

(0)
Complete lesson to cover completing the square and solving quadratic equations by completing the square. The lesson is designed to be used with algebra tiles but the pictures shown on the screen mean that the tiles are not essential. I used this lesson with a Year 10 class following a higher GCSE scheme of work but it is suitable for higher ability KS3 too.
Factorising quadratic expressions
crender91crender91

Factorising quadratic expressions

(0)
Whole lesson in mastery-style including examples and intelligently varied questions to cover factorising quadratic expressions. Lesson was created for Year 9 but is suitable for KS4 too. This lesson was taught following expanding double brackets and basic algebraic manipulation.
Exterior angles of polygons
crender91crender91

Exterior angles of polygons

(0)
Powerpoint introducing exterior angles of polygons and the formula that links the exterior angle to the number of sides of the polygon. Includes some exam questions but main set of questions taken from AQA so not included. Designed for KS4 class, to be taught following interior angles of polygons.
Expanding double brackets (2 lessons)
crender91crender91

Expanding double brackets (2 lessons)

(0)
2 whole lessons to cover expanding double brackets; first lesson includes only positive terms and second lesson brings in negative terms too. Includes set of intelligently varied questions and the answers too. Designed to be taught following expansion of single brackets and basic algebraic manipulation, including simplifying expressions. Created for KS3 but can be used as a revision tool for KS4 too.
