Phase Change Identification Activity

(0)
Manipulative activity in which students identify and label basic phase changes and whether energy is being added or removed. Students can cut and paste the answers and keep the completed activity in their notebooks, or teachers can laminate for multiple uses, and students can copy the completed diagram into their notebooks. Great formative assessment!
Metric Measurement Learning Activities

Metric Measurement Learning Activities

(0)
Includes three activities for reviewing and reinforcing metric measurement. Activity 1 is an "I have...Who has...?" vocabulary game using metric units, prefixes, and measurement definitions. Activity 2 is "Metric Mystery Boxes," an activity that is part logic puzzle and part calculating volume. Students are given a set of length, width, and height measurements, as well as a set of clues. Using both, the students match a set of four boxes with their correct dimensions. Activity 3 is a 2 part practice sheet that is great for warm-ups. All answer keys are included.

Scientific Methods and Measuring Quiz - 2 versions

(0)
Quiz to assess scientific methods and measuring. Includes tools, units, accuracy and precision as well as a short data analysis activity (students are given the data from a white powder lab and have to answer questions about the possible identity of the materials). Two versions, both with answer keys.
Matter Activities

The goal is to fill in the blanks correctly. Activity 2 is the States of Matter Phase Change formative assessment. This is a hands-on activity to match the names of the phase changes with the correct change of state as well as whether energy is being added or removed. Activity 3 is an "I have...Who has...?" Matter vocabulary game. Answer sheets are included.

Path of Light Through the Eye Cloze Paragraph

(0)
Great for formative assessments! Cloze paragraph and scramble activity to introduce, review, or reinforce the path that light takes as it enters the eye, creates an image, and sends that image to the brain. Cloze paragraph includes word box. Scramble activity involves cutting out statements and placing them in the correct order. This can be done individually, and pasted into an interactive notebook or laminated for the class and used over and over.
