This lesson introduces learners to the famous Asch experiment and we start by carrying out the experiment in class as a starter (instructions at the start). After carrying out the study, students can watch the study in action while getting the key information down on aims, method, results and conclusions. We then look at Asch’s extended study which was done 4 years later by Asch on variations that can affect conformity such as group size, unanimity and task difficulty. Some questions to consolidate learning through MCQs and true or false before we look at evaluating Asch’s study. A 4 mark exam style question for students to attempt, model answer provided to compare answers before finishing with a debate and box plenary. Colourful, concise and engaging slides! Thank you

This double lesson introduces learners to motivation, we look at both the four theories and the variety of ways to motivate in practice. We start with looking at the four theorists, step by step with discussion, a short case study to apply the knowledge with answers on the powerpoint. We then go onto look at financial and non financial methods of motivation before looking at a case study of a company that has been voted as one of the best places to work - we investigate what makes it such a good place to work, a 12 mark question based on this with structure guidance and a model answer provided. This triple lesson introduces learners to the importance of having good relationships with suppliers and what makes a good supplier.Real life examples from Tesco and Vi Spring, a 6 mark context question with a modelled answer to develop exam technique. Plenty of consolidation activities to differentiate between JIT and JIC. In the second lesson, we look at bar gate stock graphs, all broken down so it is easy to understand for students and a few 3 mark questions with answers to self or peer assess. In the third lesson, students are given a scenario and must decide which supplier to pick for a chocolate company, they are given data and must weigh up the pros and cons of each supplier, before coming to a judgement - done well in groups. This double lesson introduces learners to marketing in a global context, building on the knowledge from theme 1. We start by looking at three main types of marketing strategies then go on to look at’Glocalisation’, and the best example of this which is Mcdonald’s. A short engaging video on how Mcdonald’s has tailored their foods to countries around the world, followed by a concise case study on the same topic for consolidation. A few activities followed by another concise case study on Mattel and how they launched Barbie in China, but ultimately failed, due to an incorrect marketing strategy. Students attempt a 10 mark exam style question on this, with structure guidance and a model answer provided which can be used for peer asssessment. This lesson introduces learners to the extent of which MNCs actions can be controlled. We start with the some examples of significant actions by MNCs which would require intervention. We then look at reasons for how they can and cannot be controlled. A concise case study and video on the BP oil spill, students attempt a 12 mark question, structure guidance is given and a concise model answer to help students with developing contextual skills. This lesson introduces learners to the importance of taking calculated risks for a reward. Example or weighing the upsides vs downsides before coming to a decision to take a risk. An activity which gets students to think about situations in their own life for example, revising vs going out to see friends - students then weigh up the pros and cons (analysis) and finally make a judgement with a depends (evaluation) on whether the risk is worth it.
