A set of 5 lessons all about Paris that focuses on human geography, tourism and map skills as well as opportunity to assess and use extended writing. Aimed at an upper key stage 2 class. Many lessons could be broken into two to extend over a longer period. Builds on a free mini scheme from PlanBee (the unit is free to download) but adapted to extend knowledge and support pupil’s understanding further at an older age. Links very well to Cornerstones Curriculum - ‘Gallery Rebels’.

A follow on lesson to ‘Where Does Our Food Come From?’ from my shop. Children explore the impact of food wastage, what countries are mostly responsible for this and create advisory posters of ways in which to reduce food wastage in the UK.

A lesson on the location of gold around the world, children will need to use atlases. Includes video on the mining of gold and the 10 biggest countries for gold production. Works well with twinkl’s maps of the world (included on one slide) but can be used with own maps. Also links well with the Cornerstones curriculum and Year 5 topic of “Alchemy Island”.
