GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition Practical Skills Log

(0)
A worksheet produced to keep a track of GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition Skills from the AQA specification Student/teacher can keep a log of what skills have been demonstrated in practical lessons and record the date and dish made. I found this really useful when marking controlled assessment and also gave the students something to complete after their practical lesson or at the beginning of the next lesson as part of reflection time.

These cards go with the Level 3 Children's Play, Learning & Development presentation (slide 7). There are a number of statements for tasks/actions a baby or child should be able to do in the Infancy life stage. Students should sort the statements into age order and then categorise them into the different areas of development; physical, intellectual, emotional or social. You could extend the task or differentiate by getting students to state specific ages etc.

HOTS Design Technology Question Cards

Literacy in Design Technology is high on everyone's agenda! I have developed these Higher Order Thinking Skills cards after we had a literacy training session by Graham Tyrer, literacy guru and Ofsted inspector. They can be used in a variety of ways to encourage discussion and higher order thinking, challenge and differentiation in the D&T classroom. Ideas for delivery: * call out a number and ask the student to read the question- use more complex questions to focus on higher ability pupils * use differentiated questions for all abilities * use to develop stretch and challenge in group discussion or independent work

Introduction to Photosynthesis KS2-3 SEND

This practical and fun resource was produced for a KS3 Biology lesson for SEND students so is pitched at more of a KS2 level (P7-Year4). Learning objectives: To see and understand the process of photosynthesis I brought a range of plants and herbs to the lesson for a predominantly sensory lesson. Students were given sensory descriptors on word mats to help them describe the smell, appearance and feel of the plants that had been with or without sunlight. We compared their findings and discussed what happens to plants when they have: sunlight+water+carbon dioxide=sugar +oxygen Activity: students to place keywords onto the print out picture of the flower in the correct place. Plenary: Are these guys right? Questioning from simple statements about what conditions plants need to grow

KS3 D&T Technical Drawing Differentiated Student Work Booklets

KS3 D&T Technical Drawing Differentiated Student Work Booklets

(1)
Another Dimension is the title of this unit of work that focuses on KS3 Graphics with a practical and kinaesthetic approach. There are three booklets in this premium resource for one reasonable price for higher, middle and lower ability students. The focus of the booklet(s) is to develop basic technical drawing and modelling skills including isometric projection, 1 point and 2 point perspective and presentation techniques such as thick and thin lines, rendering, shading and tone. I have tried to add an element of fun whilst trying to incorporate the fundamental skills that are required at GCSE by asking the students to design and model a toothbrush for an alien; encouraging creativity and innovation. Students use play-doh to model their designs, photograph and then draw in isometric and annotate to explain their design using ACCESSFM. My students really enjoyed the practical aspect of this unit and as they are so busy drawing I found it really easy to go around and provide verbal feedback, stamp their work and allow them time to respond which massively reduced the amount of marking I had to do at the end of the project. We ran it as a 12 hour project on a 6 week rotation system but it could easily be adapted to suit a variety of delivery approaches. Please leave a review :)
