D6 Dungeons and Dragons: Christmas Mission Pack - THE CASTLE OF TERROR!

(0)
PREMISE: You are going to enter the Castle of Terror to save Santa Clause. He has been kidnapped by the evil Necromancer, Alan. His devilish plan is to suck the Xmas spirit out of Santa, and use it to power his horde of undead. He has banded together with the Orcs and Goblins of the nearby Dark Forest. They will protect him whilst he finishes his experiments. You must hurry. The fate of Christmas rests with you… A mission pack that builds on the free D6 Dungeons and Dragons lesson I created. Print this off (delete the first slide though) for students, or set it up as a power point for the Dungeon Master. All the kids I tried it with loved it. Some of the quotes: "Voldemorts stolen my nose! Give me back my Magic Dagger!" "You are the worst re-animated corpse EVER!" "I use my Staff of Uncertainty to turn you into a Gibbon." A seriously creative lesson. Enjoy. PS - I've also added the initial lesson (Lesson 1) as a starting point for the kids - gets a bit complicated otherwise.

AQA A Level Drama Spreadsheet Machine

(0)
A spreadsheet designed to track the academic progress of up to 30 A-Level drama students (you can do more, but you’d have to UNHIDE every hidden columns in order to make sure that the new cells work). I have included the 2018 and 2019 grade boundaries (as published by AQA), and left both the room and the capacity for the spreadsheet to be updated with 2020 and 2021 grade boundaries. The spreadsheet will tell you how many marks each student needs to achieve their target grade for each component of the course. The “Machine” calculates this on a section by section basis for each of the components. Additionally, there is room for up to 10 attempts for each of these components. The spreadsheet will then show you the BEST, AVERAGE and LAST marks each student achieved. Hopefully, this will make it easier for drama teachers to keep track of where their students are. NOTE: I’ve designed this with the best intentions, but if there is a “bug” or an improvement that you feel would be beneficial after purchase, then leave a note in the comments section and I will attend to it quick sharpish.

There doesn't seem to be much out there for DNA, which is a shame really as it's a great text to study. Attached are ALL of the DNA resources I have created; hopefully this will give you a few different ideas and starting points. This is a mish-mash of resources from three years of teaching this text across two schools. Some organising and sifting-through is needed here.

D6 Dungeons and Dragons: The Dark Forest (An Easter Mission Pack)

PREMISE: You’ve been summoned to the gates of the Dark Forest – a haunted woodland, home to numerous fell creatures and twisted forms. The forest shifts and twists constantly, making it impossible to map. However, you and your adventuring kin will step into this shadowy land as the fate of Easter rests upon your shoulders. The Easter Bunny has been possessed! You’re job is to find him and drive out the demon. It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it… Ok, so I kind of got carried away the whole Dungeons and Dragons thing and went and made myself an Easter Mission Pack. Also, as I had such success using my Christmas one, it felt like the right thing to do. I include a lot of literary characters and locations in this one too. Here's the full list: Hagrid Aragog Voldemort Dracula Frankenstein's Monster Willow (from Buffy) Treebeard The Watcher in the Water (From Lord of The Rings) The Balrog The Wall (from Game of Thrones) The Ringwraiths It all seems to fit together. Also, I include in this pack a whole-class presentation so you can do a guided creative writing lesson with a class or a large group. Either way, I am really looking forward to teaching this. You will need to encourage all Dungeon Masters to be creative in how they manage the conflict situations. This, is going to be great fun to teach... PS - with the whole class presentation, clicking the main background image acts as the link to the next slide via the "secret paths" without flagging it up to students. PPS - I've also included the first lesson - available for free elsewhere - otherwise it gets a bit complicated.

D6 Dungeons and Dragons: Creative Writing tool kit - let your students' imagination run wild!

I am vexed (greatly vexed) at the generally poor quality of creative writing with students these days - they do tend to have a lot of their thinking done for them. Sadly, it seems to be something that is leeched out of them by a combination of an aggressive curriculum and teenage priorities. So, this is my answer - DUNGEONS and DRAGONS (Or D6 Dungeons and Dragons as I am now calling it). Simply put, it's a very simplified version of the original Dungeon's and Dragons - you need only a D6 (One dice), pens, paper and this power point to play. Try it out - I had some huge success with year 8, 9 and 11 classes instead of playing DVDs in the build up to the Christmas Break - it would work just as well for Easter, Summer and stand alone lessons where you have an awkward space to fill. Use this lesson when you are trying to answer this question - how can I teach kids to be more creative? There is some initial effort required on your part though - you will have to be the Dungeon Master in the example - but once you've got past this part, I am willing to bet you could leave the room and the kids won't have noticed. Additionally, I will be creating a series of themed "mission packs" for Christmas, Easter and Summer - you'll have to buy these (they take a while to make), but the start point is yours for free!!! AQA English Literature: Romeo and Juliet - Contextual Appreciation

A lesson I've used in the development of my students' essay responses. Our school were also fortunate enough to find a theatre company that was able to come and perform versions of the Shakespearean plays we needed of them. This lesson was taught before hand and gave the students the pause for thought necessary for them to take on board valuable ideas surrounding contextual interpretations. The web address for the Much Ado About Theatre Company is below: http://www.muchadoabouttheatre.com/ Use them and the resource with freedom and may the odds of AQA marking be ever in your favour... UPDATE: I have modified the lesson to include images of the MAAT cast acting out parts of Romeo and Juliet. Seriously,by the way, get these guys in! They do a workshop with your kids that focuses specifically on the AQA Literature paper!
