Adding er - adjective - if word ends in an 'e', just add 'd'. 3. Adding er - adjective - if the word has a short vowel sound, double the last consonant and add ‘er’. 4. Adding er - adjective - if the word ends in a 'y', change the y to an I, and add er.

They then draw a bean [a small dot] for each single phoneme and sausages for graphemes that make one sound [e.g. ch sh th...]. An example is done on each page. 3. The 'sausages and beans' then become the Sound Buttons, so the child then 'presses' the sound buttons and sound out to blend each word. The word list can be used for writing too.
