The Tudors Table Names

The Tudors Table Names

This is a set of 6 Tudor table names. Henry VIII William Shakespeare Elizabeth I Catherine of Aragon Francis Drake Sir Waler Raleigh I have uploaded these in PDF format as it most likely many downloaders will not have the correct installed to edit these in Microsoft Word. I made these to stick to each side of my 'SAMLA' table tidies I bought from IKEA, there a perfect fit. You can, of course, use them how you see fit. The smaller table name which comes in the pack I used for a table points display. This resource took a little while to both create and upload. Could I please ask you to spend a few seconds to review this item; it would be greatly appreciated. :) Enjoy

History presentation- Christopher Columbus

History presentation- Christopher Columbus

This is a presentation on the explorer, Christopher Columbus, who discovered the 'New World.' Use it as part of a lesson or for an assembly. The presentation covers Christopher's childhood, his early sailing years, his voyage and his discovery. The last part of the presentation includes some interesting questions to provoke discussion or for further exploration. Columbus is one of the key historical figures mentioned in the KS1 curriculum, so this presentation would be perfect for introducing the explorer.

The children develop reading comprehension, writing, editing and SPaG skills during the unit. All five lessons include a SPaG starter which is always linked to Christopher Columbus. The main activity in lesson 1 is a non-fiction reading comprehension, which helps children to learn about Christopher. It is laid out in a SATs style format, containing similar questions to a SATs paper and is differentiated 3 ways. The main activity in lesson 2 is a fictional diary comprehension, written from the point of view of Christopher Columbus before the crew has found the New World. Again it is in a SATs style and is again differentiated 3 ways. Lesson 3 allows children to gather vocabulary using a drama activity and lessons 4 and 5 allow children to write and edit their own diaries as Christopher Columbus.
