I am a Science teacher of 20 years who has worked as both an Assistant Science Faculty Leader in mainstream school as well as ITE coordinator. I have also worked in alternative provision and now am curriculum leader for SEND Nurture provision in a special secondary school where I have developed many resources for teaching ELC Science. I love all things Science and enjoy being creative with my teaching.

This is all the resources I created for the TDA element of AQA ELC double science. It includes powerpoints for each TDA for component 1,2,3, 4, 5 and 6, which includes a method card sort. It also includes 2 versions of the TDA record sheet - a lower ability and medium ability version. There is also a powerpoint to be used to teach variables and also graph work.

This is a series of 10 question recall tests for use at the start or end of a lesson. This presentation includes quizzes on enzymes, enzymes action, enzymes in action and transporting substances. At the end of each quiz is a slide with just the questions on so that they can be printed off and handed out to students as a starter whilst you do the register. The presentation then goes through each questions with the answer so that students can self assess. Alternatively it can be done as a plenary and you can rapid fire targeted questions just using the presentation.

I have also included in this bundle a presentation on writing word and symbol equations which fits in nicely for higher ability students following the presentation on ionic bonds. With each powerpoint (apart from the revision one) there are 3 differentiated worksheets also.

This is the fifth lesson in a series of 6 lessons to introduce year 7 to Science. This lesson is titled ‘Investigations’ and allows students to undertake an investigation early in the year. I have included an investiagtion title page for Y7,8,9,10 and 11 ( please look in the notes section at the bottom of the powerpoint to find out which is most suitable) . I have not included many details of the investigations as the point is for the students to do this for themselves. This may take 2 lessons depending upon the ability of the students in the class. The presentation should be self explanatory . The next lesson is ‘Drawing graphs’

This presentation takes a brief look at identifying the 3 common states of matter, drawing particle diagrams, working out how to predict the state of matter based upon melting point and boiling point data and naming the processes involved in changing state. This presentation takes a brief look through how the idea of an atom developed over time and uses The Atoms Family ( a set of 3 cartoons I drew to represent the proton, electron and neutron) and helps students remember the properties of each subatomic particle.
