Present subjunctive basic classification practice
For each sentence, complete the template with the required elements. (10 sentences total)
*Note: For the present subjunctive, only regular -ar, -er, -ir verbs are used except for hacer (used in one sentence).
This practice can be used when students are first introduced to the present subjunctive.

Subject pronouns with present tense open practice
For each subject except yo, tú, Ud, vosotros, and Uds, write the appropriate subject pronoun. Then, using the list below, choose any -ar, -er, -ir infinitive for each subject and conjugate it in the present tense. Do not repeat any infinitives. All infinitives must be different.
A structured template is provided for students to write their chosen infinitives and conjugations. A table with -ar, -er, -ir present tense endings is provided for reference.
There are 10 subjects total and a total of 30 conjugations (10- ar, 10-er, 10- ir)

Imperfect tense verb translation practice
For each infinitive, write the imperfect conjugation. Then, translate it into English (used to / was, were + ing)
Example: Dormir / to sleep (Yo: dormía / I used to sleep, I was sleeping)

This practice can be used when students are first introduced to the imperfect tense to practice two ways to translate verbs in the imperfect.
In order to have a great New Year, write down 8 New Year’s resolutions using ir + a + infinitive. Your resolutions could be about anything: academics, sports, health, house chores, finding a job etc.
Now, work with a partner and read orally each resolution. Your partner will offer advice on how to best carry out each resolution using the present subjunctive. If you choose not to use the present subjunctive, you can start off with an impersonal expression like “es importante” followed by infinitive. Your partner can start off the sentence with “para hacer eso” (in order to do that…)
Ex: Yo voy a sacar buenas notas en todas mis clases
Partner response: Para hacer eso, yo recomiendo que estudies cada noche por dos horas
