#### Awesome Vectors Race Game (including vector addition/subtraction)

This is a very engaging and tactical game that can be played by 2-4 players. Students take it in turns to play a vector card to move their counter around the track. Once they get the hang of this they should start playing combinations of vectors to move around more quickly. Differentiated by outcome (students choose the difficulty of the combinations they play) and differentiated by task (make the game harder by only allowing 3 or more cards to be played at once. Students will get lots of practice adding and subtracting vectors, as well as multiplying them by scalar quantities.

#### Vectors Card Sort and Matching activities

These activities are designed to promote discussion and mathematical reasoning skills around vectors and vector addition/subtraction. The first activity asks students to work in pairs to match a resultant vector diagram to an expression like a + b. For extension, students show the vector addition visually and then write it formally for each card. The second activity asks students to sort cards that contain statements about combining vectors in to three columns (Always True, Always False, and Sometimes True) and justify their answers (again in pairs).

#### Nat5 bundle

Nat5 resources to get maths qualification through an active experience. Tarsias, treasure hunts and more!

#### Dividing a line in a given ratio plenary

Students divide a line in a given ratio and eliminate 8 of the 9 answers until they have one remaining. Used as a plenary to this topic.

#### Proving parallel vectors GCSE

A lesson (or two) on proving whether vectors are parallel or not.

#### Vector journey treasure hunt

Treasure hunt loop for vector journeys in terms of a and b. Nat5 CfE

#### Problem solving assessment quiz

This is a quiz to assess the problem solving skills of students. It is appropriate to test the quantitative reasoning skills of the children from grade VIII to XI.

#### Autograph Activity - Vector Challenge!

An Autograph Player activity where students must figure out how 6 vectors have been created. You can use this activity on the interactive whiteboard, or for your students to investigate on their own. Autograph does not need to be installed to use this activity (so your students can even use it at home), but you will need to install the free Autograph Player add-on (instructions given after clicking the link). For a full list of Autograph Activities, please click on the other web-link.

#### GCSE Maths: 3D Geometry - Autograph in 3D video

The 32nd in Mr Barton's Autograph Video tutorial series. In preparation for the next few videos, we take a look at some of the important tools needed for getting the most out of Autograph's unique 3D engine. Below the video you will find an option to download it and play it on a larger screen, or by clicking on the web-link you can see all the videos in this series.
