French Classroom Activities Bundle

French Classroom Activities Bundle

This is a bundle containing two daily classroom activities and a one week cultural presentation/activity. Items sold individually - $15.00 Bundle Savings of $4.50 (30%) ******************************************** 100 Days of French Class Bell Ringers / Bell Work This is 100 days of the bell ringers that I use in my French II-IV classes. There are two PowerPoints- idiomatic expressions and verbs of the day. Also included is the testing template. Lastly, I have added a few notes of tips and tricks that I have learned from doing this for a few years to help this activity run more smoothly. All the work is already done for you! ******************************************** French Class Daily Activity - Quel temps fait-il? This is an activity that my students and I do to start class every day. No lesson on weather is needed when it is done every day! I have all of these weather cards posted in one of my classroom windows. When the question "Quel temps fait-il?" is asked at the beginning of every class, the designated weather person takes whichever cards the class says and sticks them to the wall. ******************************************** La Francophonie Mondiale - Lesson plans/PowerPoints/Activites on Francophonia This is a lesson I did with my students at the beginning of the year, although it can be done at any time. I did it with levels 1 all the way up to 4, and it was very engaging for every student. It is a 4 day planned out unit on where and why French is spoken throughout the world. Students also internalize the colors red, blue, green, and yellow. The world is broken down into five regions- France, Western Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia. Each region has its own PowerPoint (Asia and Africa combined), along with labeling/coloring activities as well. I have provided a step-by-step lesson plan for all four days, as well as a bonus opportunity (or graded activity if you choose to edit it that way) for students to do at the end of the unit. I have also included pictures of the end result of the bonus activity from my classroom. If you want to include videos in/with the PowerPoint presentations, you will need to search online. I have intentionally left them out in order to not infringe on copyright protections.

Year 7 2017 SOW Spring Term Africa 7) Biomes of Africa [SEN and High ability] WITH ANSWERS

Year 7 2017 SOW Spring Term Africa 7) Biomes of Africa [SEN and High ability] WITH ANSWERS

This lesson centres around biomes of Africa. Each question within the PowerPoint has ANSWERS and relates to the NEW Geog.1 textbook at KS3 but in this lesson we use the documents attached. The lessons begins with a simple food chain for Africa. The second settler is called 'Street View' with students creating a food chain using key terms. This aims to introduce new terminology and is also suitable for low ability. Both activities have ANSWERS. Before the starter, to hook students into learning play them the video attached 'The Very Best of Walk on the Wild Side'. The starter is Continental Dash is using the World Map and post-it notes with the different biomes put on them. The students need to find the post-it notes and place on the World map in the correct place before the timer ends. Use the Geog.1 books to aid them or the IWB to aid low ability learners. This activity can be used as a settler the following lessons to recap learning. The main is a group-based activity (seen opposite). For low ability pair higher students with SEN. I target the roles with certain students but give higher ability more choice. The aim is to use the three different biomes attached as worksheets to create an A3 concept map in the students' group. There are role cards for the activity and a chance to find out the facts from the other biomes. I usually give two lessons to do this activity with mini-presentations (see my FREE presentation template). There is an extension activity for higher sets introducing them into distribution questions for GCSE with ANSWERS and SUCCESS CRITERIA. The other development is proclaim and explain in group presentations. The plenary is Anagrams with an Odd one out. ANSWERS are in the notes on the slide.

Geography in the News quiz - No.30 21st August 2017 - AUSTRALIAN EDITION

Geography in the News quiz - No.30 21st August 2017 - AUSTRALIAN EDITION

The 21st August 2017 edition of a weekly quiz that focuses on world news of the week from a geographic perspective. The quiz is designed to suit the Australian Curriculum (Years 5 to 10) with questions based on Australian and world news. The quiz is placed on the TES website every Sunday at the beginning of the school week. The quiz is made up of five mapping questions plus fifteen multiple choice questions + answers. (note: the map doesn't display in the previews it is on the second page but the standard of maps can be seen if you look at the preview of the UK versions of the quiz also on my store). The quiz is a PDF that you can download and print for your classes. A separate answer file is included. The Geography in the News quiz for Australian schools is also available as subscription with the 2017 Semester 2 order form available from my website : www.geographyfocus.com How are schools using Geography in the News? 1. As a quiz that can be completed in as little as 6 minutes. 2. Group research. 3. As homework exercises that students can research the answers from a range of news websites. 4. Weekly group competitions within the class over a term or the year. 5. Weekly school geography competitions to promote the subject. 6. As a discussion starter. In whatever way Geography in the News is being used it has been seen to engage students in Geography and improve their geographic knowledge by taking them beyond the classroom. Comments from teachers using the quiz: "..... I have received only positive feedback from my Geography teachers. The students look forward to it each week and it has motivated them to become more aware of world events and current affairs. It doesn’t take too long before they make an effort to watch the news in order to win the title of Geo Hero for the week". "Fantastic idea. My students have become so engaged with world news and learning how geography is applied in the real world".

The World News Crossword (August 20th, 2017)

The World News Crossword (August 20th, 2017)

The World News Crossword (August 20th, 2017) is a simple resource made up of a crossword (with answers) based on last week's news events - and THREE bonus crosswords. This week's bonus puzzles focus on Argentina, China, and New Zealand. The World News Crossword is reasonably simple to complete because its purpose is to engage students with their world and some of the many events that affect them. A two-week-old wildfire in Greenland. A terror attack in Barcelona. A baby dolphin killed because of tourists' curiosity. Venezuela went from bad to worse. 3000 Syrians returned home from Lebanon. Saudi Arabia negotiated to rebuild Iraq's cities. The US president used Twitter, again. Floods affected millions of people in India, Bangladesh, and Nepal. A tortoise escaped in Japan. But it's less about what happened last week than why and hopefully, if students work in groups to solve these puzzles, they'll chat among themselves about the stories in the puzzle. Why did Rwandans vote their president back for a third term? Why should Zimbabwe's Grace Mugabe escape prosecution for assaulting a model in a hotel in South Africa? Why is the US investigating China's intellectual property policies? And what's so wrong with an Australian politician holding dual-citizenship?
