Kinematics

A unit of work on Kinematics including using differentiation and integration, velocity-time graphs, constant acceleration formulas, distance versus displacement, motion of a lift in an application task. Using technology (CAS) with Kinematics. Difficult concepts introduced and explained. Plenty of practice problems and assessment tasks. Suitable for VCE Specialist Mathematics Unit 2 or any other Kinematics course.

Varying acceleration

Varying acceleration

Great fun activity which I used at the end of the 'old' mechanics 1 course, it will be suitable for the 'new' A level mechanics course. The aim is to find the time taken for each car to reach 8 metres given either a formula for displacement, velocity or acceleration; the Winner being the fastest to 8m. If you have nine race cars so much the better : )
