KS3 Dance ‘Hairspray’ 6 lesson SOW delivery PowerPoint

KS3 Dance ‘Hairspray’ 6 lesson SOW delivery PowerPoint

This ‘Hairspray’ 6 lesson SOW and delivery PowerPoint is for teachers teaching dance at KS3. In the school where I teach, every year we have a Year 9 musical (this year was Hairspray) and all the Year 8 pupils watch during a matinee performance. This SOW has been created for my Year 8 pupils after they have watched our Year 9 performance of Hairspray. The delivery PowerPoint includes questions which refer to the performance that they have watched and the whole point of the SOW is for them to learn the finale dance ‘You can’t Stop the Beat’. You may be thinking, ‘What am I going to do with this resource?’. Well, you’re going to need to adapt it to suit you yes but it will work in a variety of ways. First of all, it can be used as a tutorial of how to turn a series of rehearsals into a series of lessons (learning other key dance skills and terminology in the process). You could use It as a guide to create your own SOW for whatever musical your school has just put on or simply show a YouTube clip of a live performance of ‘You Can’t Stop The Beat’. We haven’t chosen next years musical yet but I will be using this SOL and will adapt it to fit. The delivery PowerPoint includes starters in the form of ‘bell activities’/‘talking points’ for each lesson, homework and assessment activities at week 3 and week 6 to record progress.

Some of the work includes: the context of the production of the film, London, social housing, gang culture and the London Riots of 2011. Also includes key facts and information on the making of the film and systems for keeping notes during watching with templates using the Cornell notes system. There are also in-depth details on key scenes, dozens of screenshots from the film as well as images from other relevant areas that have influenced the film. You will also find a range of screenshots and screen grabs from other sci-fi films such as Blade Runner and Aliens. There are also screen shots from British films such as Harry Brown and A Clockwork Orange to aid and support the work on comparing film texts. The booklet also contains dozens of activities for students including mock exam questions, comprehension questions on location, characters and more. PLUS: guidance on how to analyse scenes from the film using hexagaonal learning and summary sheets to help with revision. Key scene analysis include links to the specific scenes or extracts, hosted permanently on YouTube, so you don’t even need a copy of the film to complete some of the tasks-again, perfect for students to complete! Many of the tasks included have also been designed to be peer or self assessed and there is a wide variety of solo work, paired work or group work catered for, with each activity described in detail at the beginning of each task. Your purchase will be for one zip file that contains Microsoft Word and Mac OSX versions so that you can edit and do as you like with, as well as unmarked PDFs ready for printing. This booklet has been written so that it can be used in a variety of ways; print and use as a ready-to-go scheme of work in a booklet. Maybe give to students as a detailed homework that can be completed alongside your own classroom work. It also works great for revision, either with individual task printed or again, as a whole booklet. Try printing individual pages as starters or plenaries, or even using the tasks as engaging resources for lessons built around key ideas of your own. This guide / ebook is designed to help in the delivery of GCSE Film Studies, focusing on Component 2 Global Film. This guide focuses on the key aspects of Film style / aesthetics as well as film language, as per the Eduqas Specification. Many thanks for taking a look and for any future purchases!

Chess Set Classroom Game Board

Chess Set Classroom Game Board

Imagine a game where the challenge and skirmish is governed based on experience and knowledge of the game without using luck as its driving source. Yes, a game played that is not determined by the roll of the dice, swiping up or down, or flipping a card. This game is called chess. Since before the 6th century AD, chess is considered to be one of the oldest games ever invented. Today your students probably think chess is old and boring, right. A game that has best left in the dark old days before PlayStation and Angry Birds? But wait! This chess set is like none other. This chess set is large-scaled, highly visual, and even glows in the dark. Each piece has its own light embedded which illuminates the entire game board in complete darken. This chess set will look great in your classroom! All you need to do is watch how your students flock towards it. In this package you will receive the templates for each chess piece even the board in which they lie. This is a great chess set to learn how to play the game and in style. Looking at each piece in detail, on their backside, you can see a brief description of how it moves as well as an illustration. This is very helpful for new players. With the lights turned off, the instructions can also be read even more so. On the top of each piece shows a side view which makes it very helpful if you want to play looking down at the board. All you have to do is cut, laminate and hot glue a LED light to each piece and you are ready to go. This project is fun especially if you work with your students to build it. Assembling the game board is self-fulfilling and even therapeutic if you like DYI projects. The quality is amazing and you will never find a chess set that is so innovative and unique!

Borders to use in your Powerpoint Resources Free

This resource contains 20 plus borders that you can use for free in your Powerpoint resources. They are meant for older children, and adults. This is my first attempt at creating borders. I couldn't find what I was looking for to meet my needs on this site. Most borders on here are great, but too childish for my audience. This is why I have created a free product to see what you think. I would really appreciate your feedback on these. I have also included instructions on how to use these borders with Powerpoint. They are PNG files that need to be inserted and then possibly minor adjustments to sizing depending on your computer setup. I hope you enjoy using them. Please let me know what you think by emailing compcoachab@gmail.com.
