PRIMARY FRENCH - 20 FACTS TASK CARDS, RECORDING SHEETS, DISCUSSION ACTIVITY (1)

PRIMARY FRENCH - 20 FACTS TASK CARDS, RECORDING SHEETS, DISCUSSION ACTIVITY (1)

PERFECT FOR INTRODUCING AND EXPLORING FRANCE! This resource really does help to create a lively language learning environment, and offer a popular alternative to more traditional, teacher-led ’information about France’ lessons. Children can develop their knowledge of FRANCE - and through guided whole-group discussion - their home/host country too, in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, in part independently of the teacher. There is a bonus multi-focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading, writing and spelling, and is a great way of aligning language learning with developing literacy skills in English. This resource comprises the following: 20 FACTS CARDS - there are four facts in each of the following topic groups: GEOGRAPHY, COUNTRY, LANDMARKS, LANGUAGE and FOOD. There are four cards per A4 sheet, making them the perfect size for young learners. The language on each of the cards ranges from fairly basic to more advanced, which challenges and enhances children’s English skills. RECORDING SHEET CHALLENGE LEVEL ONE - there are two options: either two or four fact recording boxes per A4 page. Children read their selected facts, and copy the information in the boxes. Encourage children to be as accurate as possible with their spelling and punctuation, to pay particular attention to the spelling and accents of the FRENCH words that are included, and of course to make sure they are recording the facts in their best handwriting. RECORDING SHEET CHALLENGE LEVEL TWO - there are also two options: two or four fact recording boxes in this challenge level. However, there is a more open-ended task: responding to the question “What did you learn?”. This requires children to read their fact card, process the information, and then recreate it in their own words, describing the fact in the context of what they have learned. WHOLE-GROUP PRESENTATION/DISCUSSION ACTIVITY, with every fact included in the presentation resource - I’ve found this a really useful means of encouraging and stimulating classroom discussion. Children can reflect on what they already know about FRANCE, and share it with their peers. Use the facts themselves to prompt discussion about the home/host country, eg “What is our capital city? Is it also our largest city?”, which really does create a successful cross-curricular learning environment. SETS 1 & 2 with 40 facts which also include ART & ARTISTS, HISTORY and FAMOUS PEOPLE are also available as a combined pack at the special price of £5.00: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/primary-french-40-facts-task-cards-recording-sheets-discussion-activity-11700399 This pack comprises 5 non-editable files in a zipped format. Please read the TERMS OF USE carefully - the pack is copyright, and for single-teacher/purchaser use only. MERCI BEACOUP ET BON VOYAGE!

No et moi * Aidons-nous du film * Booklet + MS * New A-level * NEW!!

No et moi * Aidons-nous du film * Booklet + MS * New A-level * NEW!!

No et moi * Aidons-nous du film * Booklet + MS * New A-level * NEW!! A complete study guide of the first 26 chapters of the book No et moi using the film as a support. Ideal to help your student have a clear chronology of the book in their head with the help of visuals from the film. These resources include: - Two starter activities with appealing worksheets to approach the movie - A study booklet for students with pictures from the movie to guide them through the chronology of the book. (students need to make precise references to the book with quotes) - A worksheet with titles linked to the student booklet - An answer booklet which can be used as a complete study booklet of the first 26 chapters of the book. All the quotes and references you need to teach are written for you. References to specific pages are also given. (You will need to have 'Le Livre de Poche' version of the book) Teaching tips: I gave this booklet to my students at the end of Year 1 of the French A-level after having studied the first 26 chapters with them. I noticed that some of them were struggling with the chronology and the precise order of scenes in the book or where to find quotes. This booklet has helped them greatly to have a clear vision of the book and they now have all the references that they need to write their essay. You will need about 4 hours to complete this booklet with your students but they can be given some questions to answer at home and the first half of the movie to watch at home too to save time in class. I will create a second booklet soon to cover the second half of the movie and the book! Keep checking my shop for new updates! :-) Plenty more resources on No et moi in my shop! I will soon add more resources on the book so please do not hesitate to visit my shop: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resources/shop/MllePierre I hope you will enjoy my resources and if you have a question on a particular slide or activity, please do not hesitate to contact me or leave me a message. French Jokes and Thinking Skills

French Jokes and Thinking Skills

This is a resource that I use for GCSE students or able KS3 students. It is a useful way to get students into thinking about translation and by allowing students to work out the meanings of the jokes in small groups, the activity allows differentiation and peer to peer interaction. Some groups respond better to this activity if they have a small vocabulary sheet to aid them. Although there is no direct link to the curriculum, this is a fun activity which could be used as a starter or as a bit of fun 'real world' French.

Paris je t'adore (2) - Module 2 Unit 1 Paris Touristique Studio 2 Vert

Paris je t'adore (2) - Module 2 Unit 1 Paris Touristique Studio 2 Vert

This resource is a follow up to a lesson on the momuments from Paris. It focuses mainly on the activities in Paris using "on peut". It is aimed for a year 8 group. It is based on the 'studio 2 vert' textbook (as I use the 'on peut'+ infinitive structure rather than past tense) but could also be suitable for students following the 'studio 2 rouge' textbook. Module 2 Paris Je t'adore- Unit 1 'Paris touristique' (lesson 2, after an introduction to Paris) Objectives: * saying what you can do in Paris * Using on peut+infinitive This resource includes: -a powerpoint (main lesson/activities) -a detailed lesson plan as guidance. -a lesson starter worksheet -a running dictation activity The powerpoint includes: - A starter activity to introduce/review activities in Paris -A review about "on peut" -A running dictation activity -A reading/grammar activity -A speaking game plenary (dice required) Lesson plan is a guidance on how to use the powerpoint and its activities. The other two worksheets are for the activities. Hope it helps.
