Die Umwelt & Obdachlos

Die Umwelt & Obdachlos

End of topic fun activity sheet based on Echo 3 Rot - one worksheet with a word-search, crossword, jumbled words and "how many can you find" picture. I tend to use it either as part of a carousel or during speaking assessment lessons.

The Moral Dilemma Generator - [200 Slide PPT with 'Randomiser'] GERMAN VERSION

The Moral Dilemma Generator - [200 Slide PPT with 'Randomiser'] GERMAN VERSION

This resource has been translated from the English version with the author's (godwin86) position so that German teachers can foster moral debates in their classrooms. This is a great way to contribute towards SMSC education in your MFL classroom. The original English version can be found here: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/-p4c-the-moral-dilemma-generator-200-slide-ppt-with-randomiser-philosophy-for-kids-11381522 Uses: -P4C (Philosophy for kids) -Form time activities -German lessons (KS4 & 5) -Debating societies -Making best use of spare time at the end of lessons Discussions follow one of four formats, each asking students to move from one side of the room or the other to make their position clear: teachers should then use questioning to foster a debate between students, encouraging them to present reasons for their choice and defend their position. The formats are: -"Which is more moral?" (students chose between two options) -"Agree or disagree?" (where students respond to a presented statement about morality of a moral issue) -"Who do you save?" (where students need to save one of two people/options, and justify the morality of their decision) -"Moral or immoral?" (where students cast their judgement on a given action, event or person. This resource is great value at £4.99 and cannot be found elsewhere: -It clearly contributes to the Moral aspect of your school's SMSC provision -It allows for countless hours of discussion and debate to be structured in a focussed and engaging manner. -It would take days to reproduce yourself. -It can save vast amounts of staff time in preparing cover lessons -It is the perfect way to make the most of any time a teacher might have left at the end of a lesson. -It deals with cross curricular issues Please note: this resource deals with controversial issues, debates and questions that may be deemed unsuitable for younger children. It is designed for secondary school students, but can be easily adapted to younger years with appropriate amendments by their teacher.

GCSE Speaking preparation

GCSE Speaking preparation

Inference grids to prepare pupils for photo cards/ independent speaking about a photo. Pupils are required to 1. label, 2. describe, 3. give an opinion on each picture. This is a bundle with 17 sets, but individual sets are also available on my account. Each file is covering different topics from the new AQA GCSE (from September 2016). The photo cards can be used across all languages. There are four photo cards on each topic. The topics in this bundle are: * family * relationships * free time * technology and social media * food and eating out * town * home * charity and voluntary work * poverty and homelessness * healthy living * holidays * tourism * working life * school * post-16 education * ambitions * environment (I also have a file on festivals and traditions in German-speaking countries, but it's only available as an individual set, not part of the bundle)

Probleme und Loesungen (environmental problems- Die Umwelt Edexcel/ AQA GCSE red textbook )

Probleme und Loesungen (environmental problems- Die Umwelt Edexcel/ AQA GCSE red textbook )

This whole lesson power point gets pupils to discuss environmental problems and possible solutions. After an initial picture starter in the new GCSE style (1-9) it explores environmental problems vocab to explore a listening, then it explores the use of accusative with prepositions (also the wechselprepositionen with dative and accusative) and at the end a very engaging group discussion activity. The worksheet contains the differentiated listening questions! This was judged ggod with outstanding features for lesson observation!

Ghost poem perfect imperfect

Ghost poem perfect imperfect

A series of lessons slotted into the topic of school for introducing and practising using the perfect and imperfect tenses in German. The poem is a fantastic activity that works like magic when you translate between the perfect and imperfect - suddenly it rhymes! (will be clear when you see it) The .ppt contains help with vocabulary, and the other .ppt is a lesson which links in with the Edexcel textbook text on Kalib/Angola.

Two interactive self-marking html activities practising vocab relating to social issues. Each activity has twenty words embedded into it but reveals only a random selection of ten each time it is opened. Will work on PC or IW. If working with a class in a computer suite, they can all open the files but each student will get a slightly different activity.

Umweltprobleme

Umweltprobleme

Aimed at Y11 German (High ability) as part of the environment topic. A series of 2 lessons about environmental problems based on the Edexcel German Textbook. First lesson: Introduce problems, write in German any that they see in the video, use the tables to develop more interesting reasons for why they are worried about certain problems, speaking debate. Second lesson: Guess which problem it is by the description, listening from the textbook (helpfully prepared for by last lesson's table of reasons), reading comprehension (using some nice wenn clauses) and then more speaking.
