Die Begrussung Los saludos These 2 powerpoints are aimed at introducing the greetings in both German and Spanish. I've designed them for KS2 pupils, but they can be used with KS3 pupils as well. Both lessons are quite similar, so activities contained here can be adapted into any language.

Unit 3.2 from mira express 1

Series of lessons on the weather and a follow up lesson on clothes in Spanish. I devised them to teach KS2 but can also be used for KS3. Includes a variety of activities.

These are 3 different activities I created to get my A-level students to speak about stereotypes in the Hispanic world. Activity 1 consists of 12 cards (you need to cut them out yourself) with a different Spanish stereotype each. Students will take one each at a time, having to explain the stereotype in more detail if they have heard from it before, and then say whether they agree with it or not, and why. Activity 2 consists of a PDF document that looks like a comic, created with countryballs (to make it more fun and attractive). It includes more stereotypes of different Spanish-speaking countries. Each slide is created to trigger a discussion regarding the preconceptions of each country mentioned. Activity 3 is a powerpoint presentation with a very wide range of different South American stereotypes, raised by North American people. Each slide displays a different stereotype, for students to look at and discuss in pairs.

A lesson on Unit 9 “nuestro planeta” from the Mira GCSE rojo which can basically be used with any textbook to cover the topic of environment and environmental problems. Activities included in the bundle: starter, quiz-quiz trade for plenary, and extended reading with grammar activities on “se deberia” and a detailed lesson plan to help with organising the lesson.

A 30’ lesson I created (for an interview that got me the job) on healthy living for a Year 10 class, but that can easily be adapted to any other year group. Activities included: a lesson plan, a quick starter and plenary, a reading and a quiz-quiz trade that can be used as AfL.

Lesson devised to be able to talk about what there is and there isn´t in your city or town. It includes PLENTY of activities introducing places in town: a lesson plan, an extended and differentiated reading, speaking activities including quiz-quiz trade to test AfL, writing activities with peer assessment, etc. I used with my top set Year 9 group but it can be easily adapted to any abilty.

A whole lesson based on the Mira 3 textbook (rojo), “Ganare la loteria” topic.

A super straightforward lesson devised to teach how to talk about past holidays annswering to the questions when, where, how, who with, etc and using the verb “ir” in all its forms in the preterite tense. Activities included: a starter, plenary with MWBs, speaking, dice game to revise grammar, a quick reading and a writing. It includes a lesson plan that you can follow to make your life easier.

A 33 slide ppt presentation I created to teach 3A “Guten Appetit”,an introduction to food and drink in German, based on Zoom 1 Deutsch. Please note I devised this lesson as a cover lesson, i.e. for students to work on independentl, but it can be perfectly used in a normal lesson as well with a bit of tweaking. NOTE: look at the bottom of the slides (not in presentation mode), as sometimes I have added instructions on what to do in each activity.

Mega bundle for unit 3B “Mein Zuhause”, including sub-units 3B.1 to 3B.2 Resources for: 3B.1 Berlin, Berlin! and 2B.2 Was kann man machen? Please note this DOES NOT include resources for the rest of the sub-units within topic 3B since I never get to teach that far. There is 1 extensive powerpoint (52 slides), containing plenty of activities both from the textbook and created by me. This powerpoint has been created using zoom 1 as guidance. I also include 2 extra worksheets to work on mini projects or to be set as homework.

Photo treasure hunt I’ve created for year 9 students learning from home, to revisit basic language by finding different things, taking a photo of them (and uploading them into the document) and writing a short sentence describing them. Inspired in the topics from Mira 1 - 3 textbooks. Meant to be done within 2 periods, but obviously this is flexible. 26 things to find in total 13 things to find - using easy/simple sentences. 13 things to find - using a bit more elaborate sentences (i.e. giving reasons, opinions…)

A resource created for pupils taking the Edexcel Spanish IGCSE 9-1 exam to show them how to prepare for tasks B and C from the oral exam. This bundle includes 2 different ppt presentations where students are shown sample A* (grade 8,9) sentences so they have a reference on how prepare these by themselves, and to know how to make them reach grade 8/9. One of the presentations was specifically designed for a bottom set (using basic tenses they should know by the end of yr 11), whereas the other was designed for a very able top set (includes examples of present subjunctive, imperfect, etc). The latter can be turned into a task: instead of providing students with the sample answers already, you can set them the task to translate these from English into Spanish (answers provided). This means your A* sample answer will be provided in English for students to practise translation skills. It’s up to you how you want to exploit this resource.

4 activities designed to introduce how to describe siblings in terms of saying what their names and age are and to show students how to give a short opinion on them. This is to be used, ideally, after teaching children how to say how many siblings they have, and whether they’re older or younger. The document includes a dialogue for students to put in order, a quick vocab task based on words from said dialogue, and a collaborative listening tasks for students to be the speakers. Students will be able to create their own dialogue by the end of the lesson.

This bundle includes units 1 to 5 from Module 3 “Mi familia" in Mira 1. There is a ppt for each sub-module (3.1 and 3.2 are joined together though) which includes way more than what the textbook offers. There are a range of activities to do in the classroom, worksheets, vocab tests some homework ideas, and also worksheets. Look at the bottom of each slide to see any notes that might be relevant to understand what to do in a certain activity or where to locate it on the textbook. The word documents are numbered to go with each sub-module, e.g. 3.5, 3.3 etc
