PSHE lesson plan- words can hurt

PSHE lesson plan- words can hurt

This is a tried and tested lesson plan for KS2 (but can also work for KS1) about how unkind words can have a lasting effect. At first reading it seems a little cheesy but I’ve used it with some pretty streetwise Y6 pupils and they loved it! The focus is on empathy and understanding the lasting damage a throwaway phrase or action ccan have on people. Hope you and your pupils enjoy the lesson and if they do why not let others know by leaving a review? If you need any further support with PSHE planning and teaching you might like my new book Making PSHE Matter- available from Jessica Kingsley Publishing and Amazon. http://www.jkp.com/uk/making-pshe-matter-2.html

Personal Organisation Used to make my own personalised teacher planner

Personal Organisation Used to make my own personalised teacher planner

Once upon a time there a young Mr Shiomsoen who needed to make his own teacher planner. He created some templates for copying and a kindly auxiliary staff colleague copied the relevant parts and bound all the parts together to make a personalised teacher planner. The “to do list” was so handy, the next year Mr S had full set to “to-do list” sheets bound together. Top tip check out the thickness of the paper that is used in reproducing this sheet, if possible get slightly thicker paper as the ink from good pens goes right through thin paper these days. I certainly did not invent this idea but for all those folks who like little life hacks, “here is one I prepared earlier” as Dehlia Smith used to say on TV. If folks are interested, I will look for the other bits another day, Ubuntu.
