Culture Club: France

Culture Club: France

My aim was to bring in a bit of my modern foreign languages background when teaching my special education class. It is Autism friendly - as there is a clear sequence/structure and lots of visual support. The idea is to ‘visit’ countries around the world, learning facts - using English skills for reading, comprehension and writing; learn some simple language, and sample the culture. This is an example - I hope you like it - if you do, check out my bundles, Europe and Asia!

Primary Mandarin: Numbers: 1-5

Primary Mandarin: Numbers: 1-5

These resources individually looks at each number in Chinese for numbers 1-5. Each booklet instructs the student how to write each number according to the stroke order and there are also colouring pages for child to colour in and numbers 2-5 reinforces previously learnt numbers. These resources are designed for Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2 {P1 - P3 in Northern Ireland} learners, however they can be used for Key Stage 2 {P4 - P7 in Northern Ireland} learners who are learning Mandarin for the very first time. Because Key Stage 1 learners are so very young, and due to Mandarin’s existing complexity, my advice is to introduce each number for each lesson. For example, one lesson, they complete workbook 1 and then the next lesson, complete workbook 2 and so on. Happy teaching and learning!

GERMAN TIME GAMES CARDS & WORKBOOK QUARTER TO & PAST

GERMAN TIME GAMES CARDS & WORKBOOK QUARTER TO & PAST

PERFECT FOR DEVELOPING LANGUAGE SKILLS AS WELL AS PRACTICING HOW TO TELL THE TIME IN GERMAN - QUARTER TO AND QUARTER PAST THE HOUR. GERMAN TELLING THE TIME GAMES CARDS & RECALL CHALLENGES really do help to create a lively language learning environment. Students can develop, embed, reinforce and refresh their understanding & knowledge of how to tell the time in GERMAN in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. The cards, card templates and accompanying Recall & Write challenges have a bonus multi-focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading, writing and spelling. Encourage students to reflect on their progress, and note targets for improvement using the Notes & Next Steps template. This set includes a range of games and activities featuring the clock times o’clock and half past the hour. Students can play alone, in pairs or in small-groups. There are lots of whole-group games to play too. The games and activities are particularly useful as a set of either homework or revision activities as students prepare for exams and progress to new stages in their GERMAN learning programme. I’ve used Wie spät ist es? as well as Wie viel Uhr ist es? so that students can see that both are used. The accompanying Reference, Recall & Write workbook includes a GERMAN to English time phrase and clock face reference workbook, which students find useful as a learning support resource. Ideally, students will keep the workbooks in their learning files/folders to use and refer to over a longer period of time, particularly as a revision resource. The workbook works best when photocopied double-sided, and double-stapled on the left-hand side, rather than a single staple in the top left-hand corner for example. This format is far more reader, writer and learner-friendly, and can be used more effectively as a learning and reference resource. The resource comprises two non-editable files: 52 GAMES CARDS 14-PAGE REFERENCE AND CHALLENGE WORKBOOK WITH SIX DIFFERENTIATED CHALLENGES Please read the TERMS OF USE carefully: the resource is copyright and for single-teacher/purchaser use only. VIELEN DANK UND VIEL SPAß!
