❤️ Would you rather … ? ❤️ This fun game can be used as speaking or writing prompts for min. 2, max. 6 - 8 players. Learners take turns to answer the questions on the cards. The given ideas may both not be very attractive but learners will have to decide on one and explain why. Depending on your student´s language level you can ask them to have a small discussion: learners state their opinion and the others in the group try to convince them of the opposite alternative. I have enclosed some templates to boost your students own creativity. Have fun using this game in class! ❤️ About me ❤️ Hi there 👋🏼! I´m Cindy from Leipzig, Germany. This book is unusual and engaging, as such it would make an excellent Reading Group study, Extra Curricular Reading Study, Stretch and Challenge, independent novel study, exemplar of ‘how to’ teach a novel for an NQT and a great resource to use for KS3 tutoring or teaching alike.

Growth Mindset Train the Brain Vocabulary Words Game

This fun and engaging Jeopardy Style Game is the perfect way to learn or review about Growth Mindset. I typically put the class into small groups and ask a member of the group to choose a color and number. That is the question that they have to answer. If correct they get one point. Then I move to the next group. Alternatively the whole class answers and then we tally up the points to get a winner. I run it on an interactive whiteboard but would be equally successful on a projector, computer or TV screen. Alternatively it could be run for an individual student on their own device. When you start the game press the shuffle button to randomize the questions ensuring that no game is ever the same. This means that this Jeopardy game can be used multiple times with the one class as it is different every time. This is a PowerPoint Macro Show. To run the game double click the file and make sure you say "yes" to running macros. If you do not the questions will not shuffle correctly. I have tested on a PC but it should work on other devices. Playing for the Team. A resource for EAL/D Middle Years students.

EAL/D Bundle for teachers of Middle Years students. The resources in this bundle have been prepared for EAL/D students with personal backgrounds where limited literacy is common. These materials also are appropriate for EAL/D students from literate backgrounds and for mainstream students aged 11 - 14 in need of additional literacy support. The focus of these resources is the story, ‘Playing for the Team’. This is an original story presented in three different versions. Version 1 is the simplest form of the story, whilst the ideas, language and vocabulary of Version 3 are more complex and sophisticated. The key objective addressed in these resources is student competency in reading for meaning, and understanding how reading comprehension ‘works’ within three levels; literal, inferential, reflective (also known as evaluative). Supporting materials include a suggested teaching sequence for a series of lessons, explicit teaching strategies and notes for teachers. Resources for students include learning activities on vocabulary, story sequence, read & retell strategies and three levels of comprehension.

'Playing for the Team'. A story to support the learning of Reading Comprehension for EAL/D students.

'Playing for the Team' is a story presented in three different, but related versions. Version 1 is a simple story about a football team. The code is not identified, so students with an interest in any form of football should find interest in the story. Version 3 contains the most sophisticated language and is the most complex version of 'Playing for the Team'. The story supports explicit teaching strategies for teaching working with EAL/D students as they learn about three levels of reading comprehension. Related resources and targeted student work-pages are included in additional resources also with the title, 'Playing for the Team'.
