Student will match verbal descriptions, tables, equations, and graphs that show the same relationship in a puzzle format. The graphs do not include any labels so students have to read the graph instead of looking at the labels. There are 10 different situations included which have similar numbers so students can't just match the numbers. There are two versions--one has one relationship per page, the other has two per page to save paper. You can use this as a math station, guided math, or a whole group activity. As a whole group, you can give students one part of the puzzle and have them find the other three people in their group. 6.6C--represent a given situation using verbal descriptions, tables, graphs, and equations in the form y=kx or y=x+b

This is the IAL C34 Specimen Question Paper (free sample). Only questions appear in the document without any written space. I have written the paper using LaTeX ( a high quality typesetting document preparation system) and compiled to get the PDF output. Teachers and tutors can now easily save paper and print the question paper for exam practice and revision purposes of their students. The omission of writing space is a huge advantage in saving ink and paper, because original papers comes with a lot of empty space for the answer. The LaTeX written paper have all the math beautifully formatted and typeset even to the minor details. The question paper comes with a cover page for reference. Differentiated quadratic graphs with answers

This resource is a word document which contains colour-coded, differentiated questions on quadratic graph functions. The questions increase in difficulty. There is also an extension activity which requires students to determine whether a coordinate is part of a quadratic graph. The answers to the quadratic graph functions are presented in an xy table of coordinates. The answers to the extension questions are also provided. All answers to all questions can be found on the word file. This resource can be used for HA in KS3-KS4. It could also act as a starter activity for KS5. I hope you enjoy using this resource.

Roots and Turning Points

A series of lessons (2-3) on finding the roots and turning points equations. It recaps the skills required such as solving, factorising and completing the square on a quadratic and then develops these skills to find roots and turning points of an equation. There are plenty of reasoning tasks suitable for the new curriculum and this stretches the more able to understand the properties of graphs. There are also algebraic questions and links it to sketching graphs. All tasks are differentiated to 3 or 4 levels to allow the skill to be practiced and then to stretch and challenge the more able. All tasks have either worked solutions or typed solutions so that the pupils can self mark. This has been used with top set year 11, all pupils engaged and made good progress.

Rearranging to y=mx+c (Math Art- Easter Special)

Math Art combines the fun of colouring and the consolidation of mathematical skills Ideal as a plenary activity to determine what learning has taken place, alternatively use to determine pupils prior knowledge to a topic and of course great for revision. In this math art activity pupils need to rearrange from the implicit function to y=mx+c and hence identify the gradient. Pupils then shade all the squares with those answers in the colour stated.
