I taught the lesson in a 3 part series, but can equally be taught in 1 lesson or 2 depending on the ability of your students and the detail you wish to go into.
This is part of a year long scheme of work that can be used for GCSE, AS or A Level Media Studies. This resource has and can be taught to year 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13’s. It has received very positive feedback from staff and students.
The learning objective: To understand the key terms Psychographics.
The learning journey: Can I outline what Psychographics are? Can I Apply my understanding of Psychographics? Can I evaluate the application of Psychographics?
The lesson covers: Mainstream, Social integration, Niche, gratification, Media platforms, Audience, Genre, Dating, Reality, Panel, Activity-Orientated, Puzzle, Quiz theory, Target Audience, Demographic, Lifestyle, Class, Age, Gender, Ethnicity, Spending Power, Revenue, Budget.
Students love it and make good progress and the progress steps are clearly defined. The final task is an example of a past paper exam question.
