Sentence Writing Frames - High Frequency Words and 'a' or 'an' Bundle

Sentence Writing Frames - High Frequency Words and 'a' or 'an' Bundle

This resource contains a set of 26 high-frequency word and 'a' or 'an'writing frames. It also contains sentence writing sheets for the construction of sentences. These frames are a particularly useful resource for students who struggle to master the basics of writing. It provides a framework and scaffolding for pupils to achieve some success in creating sentences independently. Writing sentences and reading them back helps pupils to embed and consolidate high-frequency words which they will then be able to use freely in their writing. It is particularly appropriate for SEN students who find reading and writing challenging. The support of the frame makes sentence writing accessible and gives pupils a feeling of confidence - that they can do it! Often the key to success in getting pupils to write is giving them self-confidence. I have used these frames successfully over many years to get older SEN students motivated to read and write independently. The frames can be laminated and used time and time again. Reading strategies bookmarks provide help for students who struggle to decode and focus while reading. This bookmark with movable highlighter window and set of anchor charts provide students with visual clues to remember key reading strategies. Let Chunky Monkey, Flippy Dolphin, Skippy Frog, and friends show kids how to figure out unknown words. Anchor charts can be placed around the room or made into a book for the reading center. They also make a great bulletin board. This set is perfect for reading groups, tutoring, and homeschools. The bookmarks let kids have clues to the strategies at their fingertips. It also acts as a movable highlighter to help kids track print and find words. This is one of my favorite things to use with struggling readers, but all kids love using this. The dark edge and arrow help kids follow what they are reading and is a great tool for those who skip lines or lose their place while reading. It can also be used to find answers to comprehension questions or other text you want to focus on. The cutout rectangle at the top is a great way to hunt for words or parts of words. This bookmark helps kids focus and improves visual tracking. To make the bookmark even more fun, add a piece of transparent colored plastic to the back of the bookmark to create a see-through highlighter. Directions and cutting templates are included. The bookmark can be used with or without the colored plastic. Colored plastic sheets are not included. This set is great for special education, beginning readers, and any student who struggles with focusing on text.
