Measurement Money Consolidation Year 2 Block 3 WRM Reasoning and Problem Solving

Measurement Money Consolidation Year 2 Block 3 WRM Reasoning and Problem Solving

This resource is aimed at Year 2 Secure and has been designed to give children the opportunity to consolidate the skills they have learned in the White Rose Maths Guidance and Examples Block 3 – Measurement: Money. The questions are based on a selection of the same ‘small steps’ that are addressed in the block, but are presented in a different way so children can work through the pack independently and demonstrate their understanding and skills. This resource is themed around a girl saving up to buy a keyboard. She decides to make cupcakes to sell to make more money. You can find more Reasoning and Problem Solving resources designed to be used with the White Rose Maths Guide here: https://classroomsecrets.co.uk/search/?fwp_topic=white-rose

White Rose Maths Complete Y2 Multiplication and Division Weekly Planning

White Rose Maths Complete Y2 Multiplication and Division Weekly Planning

This weekly planning follows the White Rose Maths small steps guidance. It covers Y2 Block 4 Multiplication and the new Spring Block 1 Multiplication & Division. It makes direct reference to models used in WRM and I have added the Interim Framework Standards so that evidence can also be gathered towards these statements. I have also included my adapted Y2 overview that links all the Interim Statements to the WRM blocks. The Spring Block 1 planning also has daily worksheets. I have also included my Block 3 Measurement (Money) weekly planning as an extra :-)

Christmas Advent Calen'BAR' Word Problems for Bar Modelling ($ VERSION)

Christmas Advent Calen'BAR' Word Problems for Bar Modelling ($ VERSION)

Here is an advent calendar with a difference - 4 word problems, everyday for 1st Dec to 24th Dec. Included in this package are 4 word problems for 1st December to 24th December which encourage the use of the bar model. The bar model is a useful tool for helping children visualise and then solve maths problems. Even some of the most complex problems can be seen much easier when represented visually. This advent calen’bar’ provides an opportunity for everyone to just do some maths and enjoy the run up to Christmas. Suitable for those who use Singapore Maths. Numbers 1 & 2 are simpler problems that involve 1 or two steps. This would be suitable for children who are younger or less confident using the bar model. Numbers 3 & 4 are slightly more complex and require several steps before solving the problem. The PowerPoint includes all the of problems which could be displayed on the class whiteboard for the class to solve. I have included a black line smaller version of all the questions so that they could be printed off and stuck in books. You could do these questions every day until the end of the school term, send the weekend dates home as homework or it could be used as a larger session where these problems could be posted around the room or even around the school and everyone takes part. Have some Christmas maths fun! All money amounts are in $ and c but refer to typical British Christmas things such as mince pies and Brussel sprouts!!
