We then go through the answers so students can self assess. I use this in my ten minutes afternoon maths slot. We have fun practising coordinates whilst playing the classic Battleships game. Print out the whole page initially when they are learning the rules. After that, just give them the right hand side grids only. Remember to point out to children that they need to mark the lines and not the spaces.

Complete transformations of shapes (translation, reflection, rotation and enlargement)

Over the years I have built up a rather hefty transformations notebook file. I believe this includes everything that needs to be included to be able to teach everything on transformations of shapes (including stretching the most able as well as scaffolding for lower ability). It includes activities which can be taken off and used as a worksheet (some answers included) as well as quizzes (with answers as well). This is my go to for any year group throughout KS3 and KS4 when teaching transformations as i can pick out the best bits. I hope this is useful for your too. Enjoy! After the transformations there are some slides on congruent triangles, similarity and symmetry as this can lead on nicely after transformations.

From shading ratios, simplifying ratio, dividing and sharing ratios, direct and inverse proportions, vectors and a couple of actual recipes thrown in. Several cards on each file. A useful plenary allowing self and teacher assessment. There is a blank box at the bottom of each card. I use this to write a comment/set a target/set a new task but could equally be used for students to make a comment. A quick way to assess student's progress within the lesson and lets you set a new question to further extend or consolidate as a piece of DIRT feedback. All feedback appreciated.
