Children have to find someone in the class and write the name of the child in each box who has completed that summer activity. There are 24 options. 2 documents included - 1 PDF in cursive font and 1 Powerpoint which can be edited.

Interactive Calendar for Smart boards - Morning Meeting

This interactive calendar engages young students in a "morning meeting" session. It can be used from year to year!! It is in a PowerPoint format, that will work with most smart boards. Students drag the date to the calendar and make a pattern for each month, fill in the days of the week to finish the sentences, "today is, tomorrow will be, and yesterday was", fill in a daily weather chart, determine the mystery number in a hundreds chart, number of the day (tally, ten frame, fact family, and number bond) and review shape attributes with 2D and 3D shapes. This is appropriate for preschool, kindergarten, and first grade. Also included is a student calendar for students to draw in the patterns on the board and keep track of their own dates, as well as a number of the day printable for individual students to complete as morning work. This was done in Forest School with a Year 2 class (they are half completed in the accompanying photo). We also read "The Crow's Tale" which is a Native legend with a nice moral and lovely pictures. Included are: Detailed Lesson Plan Examples (I printed these and stuck them on card to pass around in the forest) Dream Catcher History (to read to the class) Instructions on how to make a net (We didn't make proper nets with Year 2 but this could be used with older children)

The title slide references the source of the story. The final slide provides a link to an animated version of the story of Wayamba (Wayambeh). Compare representations of the story.
