Each child writes their name on the crayon and draws their picture in the circle. They then colour in the crayon. All are then laminated, lined up on 3/4 rows and placed together as though they were in a box. They can also be curved and stapled down to give a 3D effect. Add a section at the bottom to make the crayon box (this can be flat but ideally would be 3D).
Print the ‘Crayon Display Text’ (you can choose either the outlined version or filled). Ensure it is printed in A3 and add to your box.
Great for Primary or KS3 Students.

This resource contains a fully editable, 100+ slide PowerPoint presentation on the life and work of Nelson Mandela and his lifelong campaign to end apartheid and secure equal rights for Black South Africans.
It is an ideal resource for Nelson Mandela Day, celebrated on the 18th July, his birthday. It is also appropriate for Black History Month (African-American Month) in October in the UK and February in the USA.
The PowerPoint focuses on his family background, his schooling and education, his involvement and leadership in the ANC and his fight against apartheid, his imprisonment, his time as President of South Africa and his post retirement work in setting up the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund and the Nelson Mandela Foundation, an organisation that works to promote equality, freedom and peace.
The PowerPoint contains several hyperlinks to videos about his life, his early upbringing, his belief in the power of sport, the ‘Free Mandela’ song and his wishes about how Nelson Mandela International Day should be used.
Please note that the watermark on the preview images is not present on the resource itself.

There are many benefits to using a thematic approach in EYFS. One of the main benefits is that it can help children develop a deeper understanding of a particular topic. By exploring a theme in depth, children are able to connect the different pieces of information they learn, which can help them remember and apply what they have learned.
Books are a rich starting point for learning in an early years setting. They provide an exciting way into worlds children could not otherwise visit. A well chosen book can be an excellent catalyst for all sorts of learning experiences. This resource includes enhancement ideas for all areas of provision for the theme of ‘Let’s Celebrate’ (Celebrating our differences) utilising the following texts -
