1950’s America TV Sitcom Skit (U.S. History)

This is a fun and cooperative activity in which student create and act in a skit depicting a “typical” 1950’s household. Students begin the activity by watching a film: “1950’s Family Values Documentary” and then work in groups to complete a skit demonstrating their knowledge of life in America during the 1950’s. As a wrap-up activity students will watch an episode of a 1950’s sitcom, “Ozzie and Harriet” and answer a series of questions comparing the role of media in the 1950’s and today.
