Students can easily answer questions like 7 × 4, provided they know their times tables, but find it a lot harder when they are asked to answer something like 40 × 0.7 This is a really nice little starter that I got from the NCETM website to deal with this problem Simply change the numbers in the middle to whatever you want and get the class to work out the rest of the answers. You as the teacher can then print screen it to your interactive board and fill in the answers if you wish The spreadsheet is protected but with no password

Great idea and after using it for a few times you could just put the sum in the middle and pupils could come up with the range of calculations and answers

A great idea and a useful resource and as an Excel spreadsheet provides a never ending question supply! I want to adapt this to include the answers in the spreadsheet!
