These are a selection of games to teach various aspects of writing, particularly sentence structure, sentence openers, connectives, ambitious vocabulary and spelling. Word Wall - In a grid there are 5 topics for each row: onomatopoeic words, connectives, etc. and space to write 5 letters in each column. Complete the grid as quickly as possible by finding a connective and ly sentence opener beginning with s, d, and so on. Spot It - Analyse a piece of writing by trying to spot different types of punctuation or sentence structures and get points for all the different ones you have used. Dice Rolling Games - Build a paragraph by rolling a dice to decide on the sentence structure you use, or the speech structure you use. Topic Generator - randomly generate a topic by rolling dice.

Really simple to use and easy to adapt if needed. Some great ideas for both writing and speaking.
