Biology 1 - Nervous System
This PowerPoint relates to the Nervous System of the Biology 1 specification. Students learn to: (a) know that sense organs are groups of receptor cells, which respond to specific stimuli: light, sound, touch, temperature, chemicals, and then relay this information as electrical signals, called nerve impulses, to the brain. (b) know that some responses in animals are reflex actions. These reactions are fast, automatic and some are protective, as exemplified by the withdrawal reflex.
