I made this to teach my class some general background to the commonwealth games. They'd been asked design a poster based on the games for a competition. They weren&'t allowed to use text which is why there is little text. Hope others might be able to make use of this power point and edit as needed.
Resources included are as follows:
PDF files for you to print.
A range of over 200 A5 flashcards of food from around the world, covering the following countries:
Also includes A4 flags from each country and the country name for display.
This resource was planned for a 1 hour and 30 minute session during an Activity Week during the Summer Term. The theme was based around "Finding God in all things" but the resource could easily be adapted for a secular purpose. During the session, students research a historical figure or event and research who, what, why, when, how. The students are then tasked with creating a video about their research on ipads (if available in your school) or on their smart phones. There's plenty to do here and a lesson plan for the teacher. Great for independent learning and would easily work for an introductory lesson during taster days or introductory weeks. Use the comment feature below to ask questions. Images have been acquired through a search engine filtered to "labelled for re-use". Enjoy!
A complete script with 22 slide PPT for an informative, age-appropriate assembly for junior and secondary school pupils on the upcoming EU referendum. Can be delivered as a class/form assembly but can also be delivered by a single person.
The assembly covers the history of the EU and a look at the two sides of the argument; it contains music for entry into assembly and also has a couple of youtube clips.
This focus of this pack is to provide the learners with authentic and relevant purposes for using language. Based on Autumn/Halloween, these resources/activities and suggested learning experiences have been planned to help the learners develop language through writing forms, grammar and structure. This topic provides opportunities to explore various writing forms within a supportive climate.
There are 8 PowerPoint presentations that deal with the topic and provide an introduction to the topic , developing writing activities, as well as assessment. I have included some topic based maths , topic based handwriting as well as a simple art task. This cross curricular approach ensures that children enjoy and engage in inter disciplinary learning.
The presentations include:
Seasons : A simple introduction to place the learning into context
Writing an Autumn Report ( non -chronological report)
A Week in Autumn ( Poetry with a grammar focus)
Halloween - A Revolting Recipe - writing instructions
Halloween Literacy Bundle - variety of language tasks
Autumn Handwriting ( to be used with interactive board for modelling handwriting)
Autumn Maths ( number, handling data and some area activities) with answer slides
There are also some online links provided within the presentations to engage the learners.
This pack will provide a substantial amount of resources for this topic - Autumn/ Halloween as literacy, science, maths and art are woven into the learning experiences.
I have added in several jpg files so teachers can peruse the range of resources that are offered within the pack. The complete pack is contained within the zipped file.
I hope that your learners enjoy the variety of tasks and would be delighted if you provided feedback.
