This scheme of work is designed for Year 9 but could easily be adapted for other groups of different ages. Students are prompted to investigate the language and presentational features of non-fiction texts on the theme of human trafficking. Students will learn the definition, causes and different forms of human trafficking, then use this information to produce their own non-fiction texts. Students will also compare the different methods used in non-fiction to effect the reader. The scheme includes a comprehensive PowerPoint as well as reading material and variety of non-fiction texts for analysis. It also includes two assessment tasks, one reading and one writing.
