Let's Warm Up: A practical guide to warming up as part of your dance class
We have designed and written an essential guide to warming up giving you inspiring and easy exercises to get your dance class going! A warm up is such an important part of a dance lesson and can help develop movement vocabulary, introduce ideas into compositional tasks later on in the lesson, as well as physically and mentally preparing for the session.

Each warm up explains why it can be useful, how it will benefit your children's learning and has detailed instructions explaining how to deliver it.

This resource can be used by all levels of teachers delivering dance and can be modified to suit the age and ability of your children.

This warm up booklet has been developed based on years of teaching experience with children of all ages and gathering feedback from teachers.

You can see some of the pages of the booklet on our website www.danceeducates.co.uk/resources/warm-up-booklet/ or why not try our dance free lesson plan “The Flock Warm up” which is the first warm up in this booklet.

We hope you find this useful and we would love to hear your thoughts: hello@danceeducates.co.uk
