Whilst easy to use as they are in KS2, most could easily be adapted for KS1 too. #### Mathematics Advent Calendar 2013

Over 20 problem-solving tasks for use in maths lessons in December. Suitable as starter activities, they span the difficulty range from low-attaining KS3 pupils to high-achievers at KS4.\nDrag the task you want to use with a particular class so it becomes the second page in the file. During the lesson, when you click on the 'door&' for the day it will take you to that task!\nThe Excel file shows the difficulty of the tasks. Some have worksheets to go with them. These match up with letters shown in the bottom left hand corner of the PPT slides, or in the SMART notebook slide names.

This question is designed to make the children think outside the box and use their skills. They will need to draw out each pizza and perhaps use different colours to work out how much pizza each child gets. There isn't one correct answer to this problem.
