These sheets encourage the children to add numbers mentally from left to right - which is often the quickest way if you need to add the numbers quickly in your head. Perfect for KS2.
Step 1
Add the tens digits together. Add one more if you can see that the ones add up to 10 or more.
Step 2
Add the ones and write down just the last digit.
Step 3
Put the two digits together to get the answer.
Each sheet has a couple of questions in bold for which you just add the tens and ones digits up i.e. the ones digits do NOT produce an answer greater or equal to ten.
ALSO INCLUDES ‘PLEASE CORRECT MY ADDITION’. THESE FOUR SHEETS GET THE CHILDREN TO BECOME THE TEACHER AND CORRECT A PIECE OF FINISHED WORK. THERE IS EVEN A SPACE FOR THEM TO LEAVE A COMMENT!
