KS3/4 children can struggle with the concepts of current and voltage, and with how to correctly connect an ammeter/voltmeter. I tried this analogy: energy supplied to electrons is like biscuits on plates. Helps show why voltmeter is connected in parallel, clarity meaning of voltage dropped and explain observations in parallel vs series circuits. Also contains differentiated investigation activities with explanations, and ammeter/voltmeter wiring quiz. See also: Mr Amp (ammeters and current)
